PRINGLES LAUNCHES THE PRINGLES SCENTED CANDLE

Pringles has created the perfect gift for Christmas: The Pringles Scented Candle.


The range of three candles – Cheesy Cheese, Texas BBQ and Pigs in Blankets – boast the same savoury scents as the Pringles flavours they’re modelled on.


The candles’ launch comes at a time when tasty Pringles are high on the public’s grocery shopping agenda, with an annual sales boost around the Christmas and New Year party season.


Last month, the release of Pigs in Blankets Pringles sparked a social media frenzy, so despite being a new flavour in the Pringles family the decision was taken to issue it in candle form alongside established favourites.


A Pringles spokesperson said: “Sales of Pringles soar by almost 150 per cent at Christmas time when everyone’s enjoying parties and catch-ups with their friends and family. So what better way to create the perfect festive atmosphere than with the scented Pringles Candle. It’s just not Christmas without the scent – and, of course, delicious taste – of Pringles.”


“The Pringles Candle is a great stocking filler: if the supermarket runs out of Pigs in Blankets on your Christmas dinner shop, you could simply light a Pringles Pigs In Blankets Candle on December 25 and have the same meaty odour waft through the house.”


An initial run of 500 candles has been produced, and a decision on whether to produce a much larger batch next year rests on the reception they get from lucky testers who have been sent one in the post.


The spokesperson continued: “The candles are particularly pungent, so we might need to scale back on the odour before unleashing them on a mass scale next year.”
